Feminine Gamification Viewpoint: Design perspectives

When designing your gamification solutions for ladies and gentlemen there are a few differences to take into account when it comes to look and feel of what you create.

What ladies want:

  1. Visuals that remind them of themselves, on their best day.
  1. Relatable stories that draw them in.
  1. Value for money now and in the long run
  1. Social sharing

What gentlemen want:

  1. Aspirational visuals
  1. Facts and proof matter!
  1. Solving today’s problem or need
  1. To be made look good and tell everyone about it

  1. I am wondering where this table is sourced? I recall you saying that women are harder to design for, yet more loyal. What studies and research could I locate to explore this further?

  2. Hi Natalie,
The infographic was drawn from several sources of research over time. In this Friday theme you will find quite a few pieces of research referenced in other blog posts. One to start with is a Danish study from Design People regarding female interaction, then other relevant work is from Uri Gneezy around competition
