Vanity items are often considered collectibles or items only a number of people can aim for. They don’t necessarily mean that you receive points or go up a level, they mainly play on the status level gained by obtained vanity items. Fore example in my running challenge fantastic, I have earned a badge for being motivated consistently, because my running mood indicator says so. It is displayed together with all the other badges for actual running achievements.

The purpose of vanity items is often motivational, to keep you coming back. They can be unlocked over time and may or may not be openly communicated. They can be highly personalised based on your actions and preferences.

Where in your business can you introduce vanity items?
