Gamification Mechanic Monday: Game Constraints

Each game has it’s own constraints for example a first person shooter game is just that. The game of basketball is played on a basketball court, with 2 baskets on either side, 5 players in each team and the purpose is to score the most to secure the win. Even then there are further constraints namely the rules of the game itself.

The game of business already has it’s constraints based on the market you are based in, your industry, your company and it’s rules, if the company is publicly traded further rules apply. As long as you stick with what is legal and ethical in your country, industry and country, you have relative liberty to imagine other game constraints that may make your gamification efforts more engaging.

What game constraints have you put on your gamification efforts?
