Software development has long been a white male dominated industry, when it comes to user acceptance of the software gender differences have caused some softwares to be rejected because their female users didn’t find them fit for purpose.
In fact research pointed out that differences in problem solving can be explained due to gender nuances. Further research in UX and UI narrowed it down with varying personas around five points of difference. The result is GenderMag a solution for testing the gender inclusiveness of your software. I will be interviewing Margaret Burnett about her research in the coming week, but I was so excited to find the information I really want to give you her most recent talk as a precursor.
