Gamification Mechanic Monday: Easter eggs
Ah well, on a Easter Monday, the only game mechanic one could really feature is Easter eggs. We are not talking about the chocolate variety here or another sugary boost, but hitting the sweet spot instead with a bit of fun. Easter eggs in games are a random mission, some additional power, points, basically an unexpected feel good gift from the designer to the player.
In a business gamification sense, you can give managers the power to deliver Easter Eggs to employees to give a motivational boost or even just praise for a job well done, although typically no action is required to earn them. In effect they are really motivational boosters to keep you interested and engaged. So when was the last time you gave an unexpected positive bit of motivation to someone?
We would love to hear where are you going to give this motivational boost type Easter eggs in your business or your life?
