Gamification campaigns we love: Global Learning X-prize
Every so often campaigns pass by that really stir you for a bit of epic meaning and the XPrize is a clear example of using game elements not only to select great causes but also then linking it with crowd funding in order to reach even wider.
The X-Prize foundation has over the years supported great research to eradicate some of the world’s biggest problems. So if you ever saw an organisation apply the epic meaning motivational driver well, then have a further look into what Xprize supports.
I want to zone in on a campaign that I believe a lot of companies already operating with gamification in mind and I am thinking very specifically of Khan Academy, Duolingo and others along these lines, who are already providing the types of services this XPRIZE project is trying to fund. How about joining forces and make an amalgamated platform supporting reading, writing and arithmetic. The core needs tablet based, software which will become open source and effective results within 18 months.

If you have a connections to the great brains at the above mentioned companies and would be willing to join a team of gamification experts to make this happen, then get in touch. If you have open source platform development skills then definitely we need your expertise.
From a campaign perspective, if you look at the indiegogo campaign pages, great names have offered to match your funding, in return there are great teachers involved supporting this. So not only does it appeal to epic meaning, but it also asks for social influence, it offers collectable once off items especially designed for this project, VIP tiered goods which you receive when you support at various levels as well as the chance to have your project show-cased and selected. Crowd sourcing in itself is very much appealing to the social influence aspect.
So, who wants to join forces?
