With the first bit of heavy rain and the damp coldness chilling London air, it just felt right to share my holiday or at least a snapshot from it with you. I went to Sweden and explored some of the magnificent vastness this country has to offer with my partner and used the Foursquare application to track out movements.
The fun started with a swarm of us checking in at Heathrow and the app suggested we could start a flashmob, now that just stirred all sorts of funny images in my mind. Imagine random strangers just grouping together to start a spontaneous dance, just because you can.
I became mayor of the outdoor gym and ousted someone else in the process. As we travelled I also became mayor of an amazing waterfall and added some pictures. Now for those of you unaware of the app, it is basically a case of checking in the most in a place that earns you the mayor label… now in my mind this is an opportunity for a loyalty reward.
In my video I make links with business lessons you could draw from this fun app. What totally impressed me is that when I got home, Foursquare knew because I checked in at home and promptly sent me a message to ask: Hey we noticed you were on a trip, would you like to share some tips? How cool is that? and when did you ask this question last from your customers?
